Georgia Real Estate License Renewal Requirements
The Georgia Real Estate Commission (GREC) requires licensed real estate agents and brokers to renew their license every four years.
If you are renewing your salesperson license for the first time, GREC requires you to complete 25 hours of Post-License courses. Post-License courses are different than Continuing Education (CE) and you can enroll in them by navigating to our Georgia Post-License Packages.
If you have already renewed your salesperson license once and this is your subsequent renewal or if you are a broker, GREC requires you to complete 36 hours of Continuing Education (CE) courses. You are on the right page! Enroll in our 36 Hour Continuing Education (CE) course package to fulfill the GREC education requirement for your license renewal.

Yes, nine of your post-license credits count as CE for your first renewal. That means you'll just be responsible for completing 27 additional hours of education before your fourth anniversary: 3 hours of license law and 24 elective hours.
GREC makes your renewal application available 120 days (4 months) before your renewal due date. You will need to submit all materials by midnight on your calendar due date to avoid late fees. Longer lapses will require a reinstatement process.
Your license will no longer be in ACTIVE status after your license expiration date. However, you can pay your renewal fee to avoid a lapse in your license and you will be able to practice legally once your CE is complete.
You will receive an electronic certificate of completion after finishing each course. These certificates can be found under 'My Transcripts' and will remain in your account indefinitely. These certificates will provide proof to GREC that you completed the mandatory credit hours to renew your real estate license.

"License Classroom has provided me with the quickest and easiest online real estate education I have seen over my career. I completed my real estate pre-license courses through License Classroom over 7 years ago when I first got my Texas salespersons license, and they recently provided me broker education to obtain my broker's license in 2021. I highly recommend them to anyone who wants to complete their state required education quickly and at a very affordable price."
